Following the launch of the Realme 16 Pro series earlier this month, the more entry-level Realme 16 model is also preparing to hit the market. Images and technical specifications of the new model have surfaced on a Vietnamese retailer's website.
The published images reveal a striking horizontal camera island on the back, reminiscent of Google Pixel models and the recently introduced iPhone Air. However, Realme adds its unique touch to this design by placing a special selfie mirror next to the rear cameras.
Realme 16 Expected Features
The Realme 16 is expected to feature a 6.57-inch AMOLED display. This panel offers Full HD+ resolution, supporting a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and a 120 Hz refresh rate. For durability, it comes with AGC DT-Star D+ glass protection. An in-display fingerprint reader is also present.
In terms of cameras, the device sports a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The rear features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor. The phone is expected to ship with Android 16 operating system and Realme UI 7 interface.
For performance, the Realme 16 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset. The device will be offered with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM options, both variants featuring 256 GB of internal storage. One of the phone's most notable features is its large 7,000 mAh battery and 60W fast charging support.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and an infrared receiver. Despite its large battery, the device is reported to be only 8.1 mm thick and weigh 183 grams. The Realme 16 is also quite robust in terms of durability, offering high-level protection against dust and water with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications.
According to the listing, the Realme 16 will be available in two versions: 8 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB. Color options are listed as Air Black and Air White. The device is expected to go on sale starting February 2nd, but pricing information is not yet available.
