Nubia's gaming-focused brand, Red Magic, has officially unveiled its latest smartphone. The RedMagic 11 Air stands out as the world's thinnest phone with a built-in cooling system.
The new gaming phone, RedMagic 11 Air, has been introduced in China. The device features its signature transparent design, an RGB-lit active cooling fan, and last year's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
What Does the RedMagic 11 Air Offer in Terms of Features?
The RedMagic 11 Air retains the company's signature transparent design and visible internal components. RedMagic states that the rear design is inspired by vinyl records, racetracks, and geometric art. Of course, an RGB-lit active cooling fan is also present. The device is 7.85 mm thick. While not considered thin for a device marketed as "Air," it is the thinnest phone in the industry with an internal fan.
The device features a large 6.85-inch AMOLED display offering 1.5K resolution and a fluid 144Hz refresh rate. RedMagic calls this a true full-screen experience because it uses a 16MP under-display camera. The screen also supports high-frequency 2592Hz PWM dimming and DC dimming, with ultra-thin 1.25 mm bezels and a 95.1% screen-to-body ratio.
The Red Magic 11 Air model comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and RedMagic's own Redcore R4 gaming chip. It also includes LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and the brand's self-developed CUBE Sky Engine for performance optimization. RedMagic claims that the phone offers more stable frame rates than rival devices using MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chip, especially in demanding games, and supports 144Hz mode in many games.
The device also offers professional shoulder trigger buttons with a 520Hz touch sampling rate and a complex cooling system featuring an aerospace-grade aluminum bracket, graphene copper foil, and a 4D vapor chamber. The internal fan and dual-channel cooling system are designed to keep temperatures under control during extended gaming sessions.
The RedMagic 11 Air is powered by a 7000mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging and bypass charging. The device comes with REDMAGIC OS 11.0 software. The operating system includes AI-powered features such as visual search, real-time translation, object recognition, and even an AI assistant that can offer tips while gaming.
How Much Does the RedMagic 11 Air Cost?
The REDMAGIC 11 Air goes on sale in China today with a starting price of 3699 yuan (530 dollars). This pricing applies to the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage model. The 16GB RAM, 512GB storage model is priced at 4399 yuan (631 dollars).
