Samsung Unveils Future OLED Display Concepts

Samsung Unveils Future OLED Display Concepts

Samsung Display will showcase new OLED technology for robots, wearables, and more at CES 2026. A mobile assistant robot with a round screen, foldable panels tested for impact resistance, and special automotive displays that perform well even in very cold weather are among the most significant changes.

AI OLED Robot

The AI OLED Robot (AI-powered OLED robot) is a concept robot designed to be used as a teaching assistant at universities. The robot can direct students to classrooms and provide information about staff and courses. Students will also be able to check their assignments or class cancellations on the robot's 13.4-inch Samsung OLED screen, even in environments where voice commands or speakers are difficult to use.

AI OLED Mood Lamp, AI OLED Turntable, and More

Samsung also showcased several speaker-type AI assistant concepts using OLED screens. These devices will be able to offer AI-based music recommendations and personal assistant features. Unlike traditional Bluetooth speakers connected to an external device like a phone, these screen-equipped devices will allow users to operate them independently, select content on the device, and use images and videos to create an indoor atmosphere.

Samsung developed the AI OLED Mood Lamp concept product with a 13.4-inch OLED screen that adjusts lighting according to the music being played, the AI OLED Cassette with a 1.5-inch OLED screen, and the AI OLED Turntable with a 13.4-inch round OLED screen for a more retro feel.

The World's Brightest OLED Panel

Developments also occurred in the high-end TV and wearable technology markets. Samsung's new 2026 QD-OLED TV model can offer up to 4,500 nits of brightness. This makes objects easier to see in bright environments. Samsung also introduced a 1.4-inch micro-display for VR headsets. Despite its small size, it boasts a pixel density of 5,000 PPI, meaning it can fit significantly more detail into a small area than existing consumer-grade headsets.

This does not mean that Samsung will produce all these robots and smart devices itself. Rather, it indicates that Samsung Display has display products available to support any manufacturer willing to develop similar products.
