Radeon RX 9070 Appears for the First Time, RTX 50 Series Widens the Gap

The first data of the new year indicates that Nvidia is gaining momentum in the graphics card market with its Blackwell-based RTX 50 series. AMD, on the other hand, appeared in the survey for the first time with its RDNA 4 architecture RX 9070 models. The top five most used graphics cards on Steam were the RTX 3060, RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, desktop RTX 4060, RTX 3050, and GTX 1650. These five models collectively account for a 27% share.

The Blackwell-architecture RTX 50 series is rapidly increasing its market share. As of December 2025, the total share of the RTX 50 family reached 12.72%. The most common model in the series on Steam is the RTX 5070, followed by the RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 Ti.

AMD Approaches its Rival

A striking picture is present in the CPU distribution. According to December 2025 data, AMD increased its share on Steam to 47.27%, while Intel declined to 55.47%. The gap between the two brands has significantly closed in recent months. This situation confirms that gamers are turning to Ryzen-based systems. Looking at core counts, 8, 6, and 12-core processors are among the segments showing the most growth.
