The 2020 film Greyhound, written and starring veteran actor Tom Hanks, became one of Apple's most successful films to date. The film, which generally received positive reviews, also pleased Apple with its viewership figures. Naturally, this paved the way for a sequel. This long-awaited sequel is now one step closer to meeting its audience.
Filming for Greyhound 2 Has Begun
According to information shared by Deadline, filming for Greyhound 2 began this week in Australia. New details about the film emerged with the start of production.
Veteran actor Tom Hanks will return as Captain Ernest Krause in the Greyhound sequel, and just like the first film, Hanks also wrote the screenplay for Greyhound 2. Aaron Schneider is once again in the director's chair, as he was for the first film.
Like the first film, the second film will also take place during World War II, but this time it will move to a different front. If you recall, the first film was set in Normandy. The second film will focus on Captain Krause and his soldiers joining the war on the Pacific front.
According to new information from Deadline, in addition to Tom Hanks, Stephen Graham (Adolescence) and Elisabeth Shue will also reprise their roles from the first film. The main new addition to the cast for the second film will be young actor Jack Patten.
A release date for Greyhound 2 has not yet been announced. However, the fact that it has now entered the filming stage means we will have the chance to watch the film in the near future.
