AI pioneer Anthropic is expected to see its revenue reach $10.9 billion in the second quarter and announce its first operating profit. The company appears to be growing steadily.
AI company Anthropic is reportedly preparing to achieve its first operating profit in its history. According to information shared by the Wall Street Journal, the company announced in its latest financial presentation to investors that its second-quarter revenues would reach approximately $10.9 billion, thus becoming operationally profitable for the first time.
According to the report, Anthropic generated $4.8 billion in revenue in the first quarter of the year. The company is expected to announce an operating profit of approximately $559 million in the June quarter. The company's earlier financial projections shared with investors indicated that full-year profitability was not expected until 2028 at the earliest.
However, it remains uncertain whether Anthropic will remain profitable for the entire year. The company is reportedly planning to increase its expenditures due to its expanding processing power needs.
Claude's Popularity Increased
The rapid increase in Anthropic's revenues is primarily driven by corporate clients turning to the company's Claude-based coding tools.
The company is also reportedly taking steps to diversify its customer base. In this context, a new service for small businesses was announced, and new tools for law firms were developed.
On another note, a significant change is observed in the company's cost structure. According to reports, Anthropic spent 71 cents on processing power for every $1 of revenue in the first quarter. This figure is expected to drop to 56 cents in the current quarter. This situation is seen as an indication that the company is becoming more efficient as it scales.
