Xiaomi has also entered the popular open-ear audio technology segment recently. At an event held in China, the company announced its first clip-on earbuds. The new earbuds are available for sale at a price of 849 yuan (124 dollars). With a special limited-time launch discount, the price drops to 799 yuan (117 dollars).
Xiaomi Clip-On Earbuds Features
Xiaomi's clip-on earbuds, similar to the clamp designs we've seen recently, are worn on the side of the ear instead of sitting in the ear canal. This design offers ideal use for users who are uncomfortable with traditional silicone tips or who want to hear their surroundings. Each earbud weighs 5.5 grams and is secured to the ear with a memory titanium wire bridge.
Equipped with an 11mm dynamic driver, the earbuds deliver high-resolution audio with LHDC 5.0. The issue of sound leakage caused by the open-ear design is addressed with directional sound transmission and reverse sound wave technology. A triple microphone array and a bone conduction microphone are used for sound pickup.
The earbuds feature a glossy and partially transparent design, available in four color options: black, white, gold, and purple. The charging case has a soft-textured, leather-like finish. Thanks to their IP57 certification, the earbuds are resistant to dust and water, offering 9 hours of usage on a single charge. This duration extends up to 38 hours with the charging case.
The earbuds also offer AI features such as real-time translation for 21 languages, live transcription, and AI summaries with the XiaoAI assistant. On the software side, audio sharing is possible with Xiaomi's HyperOS system, while iOS users can benefit from Apple's Find My network support.
