Spotify has announced its new feature called Page Match. This highly useful innovation allows you to synchronize your progress across audiobooks, e-books, and physical books.
How does the Page Match feature work?
If you want to transfer your progress from a physical book or e-book to an audiobook on Spotify, you open the audiobook in the app and tap the Page Match button. Then, you select the Scan to listen option and grant camera access. After that, you scan the page you are reading with your camera. Spotify matches this page with the corresponding section in the audiobook, allowing you to continue from where you left off.
Conversely, a similar process is followed when you want to switch from listening to reading. You open the audiobook, select the Scan to read option from the Page Match menu, and scan any page from the book. Spotify guides you based on where you stopped listening, telling you whether you need to turn pages forward or backward to find the correct section.
The Page Match feature will be available on iOS and Android for most English audiobooks by the end of the month.
