BYD's 1000 km Range Electric Sedan: BYD Seal 08

BYD is preparing to introduce its new flagship electric sedan, the Seal 08. The technical specifications of the model, which has passed the official approval process in China, have been revealed. Expected to hit the market in the second quarter of 2026, the BYD Seal 08 is set to become one of the most ambitious players in its segment in terms of performance, range, and technology.

Powerful Engine Options Stand Out

According to data from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Seal 08 comes with multiple motor combinations offering different power levels. The most powerful version features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. In this version, the front motor produces 190 kW (255 hp), and the rear motor produces 320 kW (429 hp). The total system power reaches an impressive 510 kW (684 hp).

The single-motor rear-wheel-drive versions of the model will offer two different options: 255 kW (342 hp) and 320 kW (429 hp).

Dimensions and Technical Details

The BYD Seal 08 is positioned in the large sedan segment with a body exceeding 5 meters:

  • Length: 5150 mm
  • Width: 1999 mm
  • Height: 1505 mm
  • Wheelbase: 3030 mm
  • Weight: 2040 kg
  • Maximum speed: 240 km/h
  • Tires: 245/45 R19

800V Architecture and 1000 km Range Target

One of the most critical aspects of the Seal 08 is that it has been developed on an 800V high-voltage platform. The vehicle uses a second-generation Blade Battery based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology.

Thanks to this technology, the vehicle is expected to offer a range exceeding 1000 km. Furthermore, with a megawatt-level ultra-fast charging system, the goal is to gain 400 km of range in just 5 minutes.

Advanced Chassis and Autonomous Driving Technologies

The Seal 08 stands out not only with its performance but also with its technology. The model features advanced technologies such as a rear-axle steering system, DiSus-A intelligent body control system, Lidar sensor, and DiPilot 300 (God's Eye B) autonomous driving assistant.
