Samsung's new wireless earbud plans continue to emerge. Following the recently revealed clip-on Galaxy Buds model, it has been discovered that the company is also working on another Galaxy Buds model with an ear-hook design.
Designed for Athletes with an Ear-Hook
According to images uncovered by SamMobile, the earbuds, developed internally under the codename "Buds Canal 5," may launch under a different name. The leaked design renders show that the model adopts an ear-hook design, commonly seen in sports and running-focused wireless earbuds.
The ear hooks of the earbuds have a flat structure, with the tip extending into the ear. However, it is not yet clear whether Samsung will use a traditional silicone in-ear tip or a semi-in-ear design here.
If a traditional in-ear tip is preferred, it could better seal the ear canal, increasing passive noise isolation. A semi-in-ear design, on the other hand, could offer a more open and comfortable fit. Therefore, Samsung's choice will be crucial in determining how the model is positioned in terms of comfort and sound isolation, especially during sports activities.
Furthermore, it is likely that the earbuds will offer a certain level of dust and water resistance. Whether the new model will feature active noise cancellation (ANC) is currently unknown. However, if Samsung positions the earbuds as a sports and activity-focused product, it would not be surprising to see features like ANC and ambient sound mode.
