With the announcement of the iOS 27 release date at the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone Duo launch event, questions arose about when iOS 27 would arrive and at what time it would be released in Turkey. Apple rolled out the iOS 27 update to iPhone 11 and newer models starting at 8:00 PM TRT. After 8 beta and RC versions, the update has been distributed to all compatible devices.

The iOS 27 update brings a completely new version of Siri, called Siri AI, which is much smarter and more capable than previous versions. iOS 27 adds new Apple Intelligence features, updated parental controls, and performance improvements that speed up the iPhone. Siri AI uses generative artificial intelligence models and functions more like ChatGPT or Claude than previous Siri versions. Siri can engage in full, conversational dialogues and, with access to your personal data, understands more about you and can complete complex tasks. It can search across Mail, Messages, Notes, Reminders, Calendar, and other apps to find things for you. Siri has extensive world knowledge and can answer your questions by searching the internet. Siri AI can also see what's on your screen, allowing you to ask for more information about what you're looking at. Siri can also perform actions within apps, such as drafting emails, adding events to Calendar, and adding photos to an album.
There's also a separate Siri app where you can converse with Siri, review existing conversations, and see your chat history. The Siri app is available on compatible iPads, Macs, iPhones, and many other devices, and conversations are synchronized across devices. Siri is integrated into the Dynamic Island and introduces a new Search or Ask interface that replaces the Spotlight Search interface, accessed by swiping down from the center of the screen. Apple has rebuilt the search index, so content is indexed faster, bringing more relevant results, especially in the Mail app. You can type to Siri from Search or Ask. You can say "Hey Siri" or tap the side button to invoke Siri. The Siri animation has also changed. Short Siri responses appear in the Dynamic Island area, and you can swipe down for more information or ask a follow-up question. You can upload files and photos by tapping the "+" button. On iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone Duo, Siri's speed and expressiveness can be customized. Apple's latest iPhones also support enhanced dictation features developed with special on-device AI models.
Apple has brought Visual Intelligence to the Camera app with iOS 27, adding a Siri mode. You can take a photo of anything around you and ask Siri for information about what you're looking at. Visual Intelligence has new capabilities; it can tell you the nutritional value of a meal, add multiple events to your calendar simultaneously, split a restaurant bill for you, import contacts from a business card photo, or transfer a membership card to the Wallet app.
Siri has been integrated into apps with system-wide context menus. This allows you to select text or images and ask Siri questions about your selection. With the "Write with Siri" feature, Siri can generate text from scratch, correct your grammar, or provide feedback on your writing. Siri can even write in your style when composing emails and text messages. Siri features are available on AirPods and CarPlay.
AI-powered editing tools have also been improved in the Photos app with iOS 27. The Clean Up feature works better at removing objects from photos and filling in missing areas. The Extend feature allows you to change the cropping area of an image by generating new fill with AI, while the Reframe feature combines AI and spatial images to change a photo's perspective or composition. iCloud Shared Albums now support full-resolution sharing, and Android and Windows users can add photos to iCloud albums. Additionally, a 30-day expiration option and the ability to immediately sync content to iCloud for faster uploads have been added.
Any photos or videos can be played as a slideshow, and you can save a video frame as a photo. Apple has added a "My Shots" section to the Photos app. With the new Selection View, you can review and modify metadata such as location for multiple images. Keywords and starring are also supported.
With iOS 27, Safari can automatically organize tabs, bookmarks, and the Reading List by topic, create custom extensions for you based on natural language prompts, and track changes on websites with the "Notify Me" feature by informing you when an update is detected. The Passwords app can use AI to replace easily guessable, insecure passwords with strong ones for you. However, this feature is expected with the iOS 27.1 update. Finally, when saving files or folders, Apple Intelligence suggests names based on the content.
Image Playground has also been updated; it generates images in every style, including more realistic ones. You can create photos of people, modify photos using descriptions for minor changes, and make fine adjustments with touch gestures. Apple has also updated Genmoji to be faster and higher quality. Image Playground supports creating wallpapers for the Lock Screen, Contact Posters, social media images, and more, with different aspect ratio options. However, resource-intensive AI features like image generation have daily usage limits, with more access tied to paid iCloud+ plans. Apple's other AI features are free.
iOS 27 puts an end to the hassle of searching for Siri Shortcuts. The Shortcuts app can create shortcuts for you based on natural language requests. You tell it what you want the shortcut to do, and the app automatically creates it.
Calendar and Reminders support natural language for adding and modifying events and tasks. The Maps app uses aerial imagery and visual intelligence models for sharper and more realistic details. The Journal app supports generative writing prompts for writing inspiration.
In iOS 27, the Home app is smarter. HomeKit Secure Video can explain what's happening in footage before you even watch it and can search recordings based on events using AI. Additionally, supported HomeKit Secure Video cameras can now stream and record video in 4K quality.
Apple has added a redesigned Settings interface and custom EQ for AirPods, allowing you to personalize AirPods audio by adjusting low, mid, and high frequencies. GymKit now works on iPhone, so it can be paired with treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and more for data synchronization. The Health app supports perimenopause and menopause as part of Cycle Tracking.
The Mail app offers smart suggestions for content-related actions, while the Messages app also has AI suggestions for actions you might want to take, such as adding photos or sharing your location. Sending large photos and videos no longer slows down chats, and a send indicator is available for outgoing messages. Feedback is now consolidated, so you receive fewer notifications.
The Phone app features Call Context, which brings up relevant on-device information (e.g., flight number) you might need when calling a business. FaceTime has a Dual Shot option that streams front and rear cameras simultaneously. The Music app has new artist pages and an Auto-Shuffle feature that provides smoother transitions. The Clock app supports adjusting alarm volume independently of system volume.
There is now a Liquid Glass slider where you can adjust the transparency level. Apple updated Liquid Glass to improve readability. Liquid Glass icons have more detail and sharpness, and there is more depth and distinction for navigation bars, menus, and buttons. Extra-large widgets are supported for apps like Home Screen, Calendar, Photos, and Music.
Apple focused on performance improvements in iOS 27. The company claims that everything will feel faster, even on older iPhones. Apps open faster, AirDrop transfers are quicker, the keyboard loads faster, switching between Home Screen pages is faster, and the App Library is faster. New shots in the Photos app load up to 70% faster. With iOS 27, the iPhone is more successful at switching between Wi-Fi and cellular network connections, reducing the number of dropped calls and unsent messages.
Apple also updated parental controls with iOS 27, introducing child safety features. The Screen Time feature has been redesigned; parents can now see the apps their children use and the websites they visit, and make real-time adjustments. The Time Limits feature allows parents to set usage times for app categories such as Entertainment, Games, and Social Media, with customizable schedules by day and time.
The "Ask to Buy" and "Ask to Browse" features require children to get parental permission for every app download and every new website they visit in Safari. Parents can also manage contacts and require their children to get permission before communicating with someone new. The Communication Safety feature now blurs images containing blood and violence, in addition to nudity, in Messages and FaceTime apps.

How to Perform a Clean Installation of iOS 26 📲
The iOS 27 update can be installed by following these steps: Settings - General - Software Update. For those who want to perform a clean installation of iOS 27, here are the steps:
- Connect your phone to the computer via a USB cable.
- Open iTunes on PC, or Finder on Mac.
- Select your iPhone.
- On Mac, press the Option key / on PC, press the Shift key and click the "Restore iPhone" button.
- In the new window that opens, select the iOS 26 IPSW file you previously downloaded.
- Wait for iOS 26 to be installed on your device.
- Set up as a new iPhone and restore from your last backup.
