BYD's luxury brand Denza has launched its electric sedan, the Z9S, for pre-sale. With a record-breaking electric range of 1,100 km, 1,193 horsepower, and the "e3" platform, the vehicle is set to disrupt market dynamics.
Denza, the luxury segment representative of Chinese automotive giant BYD, has officially launched the Denza Z9S model, the newest and most ambitious sedan member of the Z9 family, for pre-sale. Compared to the Z9, the vehicle boasts more compact and sporty lines, making its debut in China with 3 different trim options ranging from approximately $45,700 to $55,700.
The model achieves a record-breaking driving range of 1,100 km among mass-produced all-electric vehicles, successfully surpassing many of its competitors in the market.
1,193 Horsepower and 2.68-Second Acceleration
The Denza Z9S comes in two distinct performance versions: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant and a triple-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant. The single-motor version produces 370 kW (496 hp) of power. The triple-motor version, built on the e3 platform, achieves an impressive total power output of 890 kW (1,193 hp). This version completes the 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2.68 seconds.
Equipped with BYD's new batteries with capacities of 102.3 kWh and 122.5 kWh, the vehicle promises ranges of 780 km, 920 km, and 1,100 km according to CLTC data.
Crab Walk and Air Suspension
Measuring 5,090 mm in length and with a 3,025 mm wheelbase, the vehicle complements its flowing coupe lines with an active electric spoiler, a 120-liter front trunk (frunk), and roof-mounted LiDAR. Thanks to its underlying "e3" platform, the car features standard functionalities such as a rear-axle steering system, Crab Walk mode, and the DiSus-A intelligent air suspension system.
Inside the cabin, Nappa leather seats, Alcantara headliner, a magnetic panel for accessory attachment on the passenger side, and a 7-inch multimedia control screen in the rear seats elevate the sense of luxury. For driving, the AI-powered "God’s Eye 5.0" autonomous system provides full navigation and autonomous parking assistance in urban areas and on highways.
