Nvidia Releases New Game Ready Driver: Here's What's New

Nvidia has released a new Game Ready driver for RTX graphics cards. The update brings DLSS 4.5 to Cyberpunk 2077 and reduces shader compilation time in two new games.

Nvidia has released a new Game Ready driver for GeForce RTX graphics cards. The update, codenamed 621.01, brings optimizations for new games including Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Phantom Blade Zero. The most significant innovations of the driver are DLSS 4.5 and Advanced Shader Delivery support.

DLSS 4.5 Support for Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED's 2.5 update for Cyberpunk 2077, released on October 22nd, includes significant innovations in terms of Nvidia technologies. The game gains DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation support, while existing Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Super Resolution features are upgraded to second-generation AI models.

This will allow GeForce RTX users to benefit from enhanced image quality and higher frame rates. Nvidia also supports DLSS features in titles such as Phantom Blade Zero, NBA 2K27, Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown, and Planet Zoo 2 with the current driver version. Another important feature of the new driver is Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery support.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day are among the games supporting NVIDIA's new technology. Advanced Shader Delivery aims to eliminate the lengthy shader compilation process experienced when a game first launches by downloading pre-compiled shaders tailored to the player's hardware and driver configuration. This is expected to reduce game loading times and minimize stuttering during gameplay.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 also offers DLSS Frame Generation support on RTX 40 series graphics cards, and DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation support on RTX 50 series. Nvidia states that Dynamic Multi Frame Generation can increase frame rates by up to 6 times on RTX 50 series. Nvidia Reflex support is also available on all compatible RTX graphics cards.

Some Bugs Also Fixed

Nvidia's new driver doesn't just bring new features. It also fixes crashes that could occur when DLSS Frame Generation and NVIDIA Freestyle filters were used together in Wuthering Waves, a Vulkan-related crash in Star Citizen, and a restart issue in Surviving Mars. Additionally, fixes are provided for black screen flickering observed on 360 Hz QHD monitors, FPS drops experienced on G-SYNC Pulsar monitors, and brightness issues on some ASUS laptops.
