A new claim has emerged regarding Nvidia's yet-to-be-officially-announced GeForce RTX 60 series. Kepler_L2, known for accurate predictions in the hardware world, suggested that Nvidia's next-generation mainstream graphics card might not be released until 2029.
RTX 6060 might be slower than PS6
The leak source states that Nvidia tends to delay the release of lower-segment graphics cards during periods of production and supply shortages. For this reason, even if higher-end models in the RTX 60 family are released earlier, the mainstream model might arrive later.
It is also claimed that the graphics card, provisionally named RTX 6060, might fall behind Sony's next-generation console, PlayStation 6, in terms of gaming performance. However, no confirmed technical specifications are available yet regarding this. Some earlier reports suggested that Nvidia might postpone the mass production of the RTX 60 series until 2028. If high-end models are released first, it is theoretically possible for the mainstream RTX 6060 to slip into 2029.
RTX 6060 name is not even final
An important detail here is that RTX 6060 is not a product name confirmed by Nvidia. The company uses different chip, card, and SKU codes during the development process of new GPUs. Final marketing names are usually clarified closer to the launch.
Nvidia has not yet made an official statement about the GeForce RTX 60 series. One of the limited known pieces of information regarding the next-generation architecture is the appearance of a Rubin-based GPU on PCIe. However, this solution is aimed at data center products. According to past data shared by Kepler_L2, there has been an average of 21 months between Nvidia's new generation graphics cards since the Kepler era. If the RTX 6060 truly arrives in 2029, this period would extend to approximately 44 months.
