Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme-Powered Asus Zenbook A16 Unveiled: Weighs Just 1.2 kg

Asus has expanded its Zenbook A series with a new, larger-screen model. The laptop, powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor, manages to remain remarkably light despite its 16-inch screen.

Last year, Asus introduced the lightweight, Snapdragon-powered Zenbook A14 as an alternative to the Zenbook S14. At CES 2026, this model was refreshed with Snapdragon X2 Elite hardware, promising "multi-day" battery life. Not stopping there, the company added a larger-screen option to the series, announcing the Zenbook A16 model.

What Does the Asus Zenbook A16 Offer?

The new Zenbook A16 draws design cues from the Zenbook S16. It stands out with its thin and stylish chassis, high-capacity battery, and dual-fan cooling system. Asus offers this model with a 3K resolution OLED display featuring a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaching 1,100 nits brightness, a 70 Wh battery, and Wi-Fi 7 support. The previously used Ceraluminium chassis, smart touchpad, and stain-resistant keycaps are also present in this model.

In terms of hardware, the Zenbook A16 comes with an 18-core Oryon Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor with a 65 W TDP, 48 GB RAM, and 1 TB SSD options. All these components are packed into a body weighing 1.2 kg and measuring 13.8–16.5 mm thick. Connectivity ports include HDMI 2.1, USB4, USB-A, and an SD 4.0 card reader.

Asus plans for the Zenbook A16 to go on sale within this quarter. However, a definite release date and price information have not yet been shared.
