Sucker Punch's game, Ghost of Yotei, had a successful launch; PlayStation announced that the game sold significantly more than its predecessor during the same period. However, players have long wanted more from the game. The developers have now delivered a full-fledged multiplayer expansion for Yotei: Ghost of Yotei Legends.
Ghost of Yotei Legends Arrives on PS5 on March 10
Ghost of Yotei Legends, a major multiplayer update for Sucker Punch's latest open-world game, Ghost of Yotei, is coming on March 10 with a four-player co-op mode and six new bosses. Legends will be free for all Yotei owners.
Announced during the State of Play livestream, Ghost of Yotei Legends appears to be reminiscent of Ghost of Tsushima's own Legends mode. The Yotei Six, now a demonic force, will equip players with class-based abilities, pitting them against fantastically large and evil bosses described as spider, oni, kitsune, and snake demons.
Ghost of Yotei Legends will feature different mission types. Survival mode will pit four players against increasingly difficult waves of enemies on one of four maps, fighting for territorial control. Story mode is for two players and includes 12 missions; every three missions unlock a raid-type mission, a large-scale four-player assault on a castle belonging to one of the Yotei Six. Each assault will culminate in a boss battle against a gigantic, supernatural version of Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.
Yotei Legends will have four classes: samurai, archer, mercenary, and shinobi. All four classes can use katanas and ranged weapons, but each excels in a different aspect of Ghost of Yōtei's weapon and combat systems. The classes can wield odachi, spear, dual katanas, and kusarigama, respectively. As players level up, they will acquire legendary weapons and equipment in addition to loot.
Gameplay details for Ghost of Yotei Legends have not yet been revealed, but with the game launching next month, this information is expected to arrive soon.
