Expected to be introduced in a press release later this month, Apple's iPhone 17e model has re-emerged with leaked visuals and technical specifications just days before its launch. According to information shared by FrontPageTech, the device will feature a significant design change, transitioning to Dynamic Island, while offering an updated hardware structure with an A19 processor and 8 GB of RAM.
iPhone 17e Could Be Introduced at the End of February
According to the leak, the iPhone 17e adopts Apple's top-tier Dynamic Island design, leaving behind the traditional notch. On the display front, the 6.1-inch size is maintained, but the refresh rate is expected to remain at 60Hz. This could be considered a technical limitation, especially in today's market where 90Hz and 120Hz screens are becoming widespread.
On the camera side, processor-supported improvements stand out rather than a major hardware revolution. A single 48-megapixel Fusion camera is expected on the rear. This approach points to an optimization based on software and image processing power rather than hardware diversity. The enhanced image processing capabilities provided by the newer chipset aim for improvements in low-light performance and HDR processing.
For the front camera, an 18-megapixel resolution and the Centre Stage feature are highlighted. Centre Stage automatically frames the user, keeping them in the shot during video calls. The A19 processor, stated to be at the heart of the hardware, is positioned to support Apple Intelligence features. However, it is noted that this chip will be a lower-performance variant. Additionally, the system, supported by 8 GB of RAM, aims to provide a smoother experience, especially with AI-powered features.
Regarding connectivity, Apple is expected to offer improvements with its C1X network chip. This chip is anticipated to provide more efficient connection management and potentially more stable cellular performance. Furthermore, MagSafe support is said to be included in this model for the first time.
Finally, the device's starting price is expected to be around $599. Additionally, according to leaked information, a lavender color option is highly likely to be released, in addition to black and white.
