AirDrop on Samsung Devices: Fast File Sharing with iPhones Officially Begins

AirDrop on Samsung Devices: Fast File Sharing with iPhones Officially Begins

Google introduced cross-platform sharing support to certain Pixel phones late last year. Now, Samsung has taken this further. With the AZCF software, Quick Share gains interoperability with Apple's AirDrop protocol. This is not a separate application; it's integrated into the existing Quick Share feature.

How to Enable AirDrop on Samsung Devices?

To use the AirDrop feature on your Samsung phone, you need to have Google Play Services 26.11.x or a newer version running. Additionally, you must install the latest version of Quick Share (13.8.51.30) via the Galaxy Store. Furthermore, the Apple device to which you are sharing files must have its AirDrop visibility set to "Everyone". If it's set to "Contacts Only" or turned off, your Galaxy device will not be able to see it.

  • Open Settings
  • Tap on Connected devices
  • Go to Quick Share
  • Find the "Share with Apple devices" option
  • Toggle it to "On"

Once enabled, your Galaxy device will detect nearby Apple devices ready to receive files. However, currently, AirDrop is limited to the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung is not expected to keep this feature exclusive to the S26 series for long. The Galaxy S25 and S24 series are also expected to receive this feature when the One UI 8.5 stable version is released.
