Geely is preparing to introduce its new model, the Galaxy A7, which is set to intensify the electric car competition. The sedan model stands out with a range of up to 550 km, a powerful motor, and advanced technologies.
Geely has shared the first images of its new all-electric sedan model, the Galaxy A7. Positioned in the mid-size electric sedan segment, the model comes as the fully electric alternative to the brand's previously launched plug-in hybrid version. With expectations of an affordable price and the technology it offers, it is anticipated to be a serious alternative to rivals like Tesla and BYD.
The design of the Galaxy A7 features modern and clean lines. The closed grille structure at the front is noteworthy, while the vertical air intakes on the bumper edges add character. Measuring 4,935 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, the vehicle promises a spacious interior with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. At the rear, the full-width taillights have been updated with a more stylish light signature.
Rich Equipment Options
A technology-focused approach has been adopted in the interior. A 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a large multimedia screen ranging from 14.6 to 15.4 inches are prominent. The Galaxy A7 comes with Geely's new generation Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system. This system offers advanced features such as four-zone AI-powered voice command, seamless dialogue, and "speak what you see."
In terms of equipment, the model is also quite ambitious, featuring a 360-degree panoramic view system, Bluetooth key, a 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system (including driver headrest speakers), 50W wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 256-color ambient lighting.
160 kW Motor, Up to 550 km Range
On the performance side, the Galaxy A7 comes with an electric motor producing 160 kW (214 hp) of power. The LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery options offered in the vehicle are 49.52 kWh and 58.05 kWh. These batteries provide a range of 470 km and 550 km according to CLTC, respectively. While these values provide comfort for city use, they may not be very suitable for long-distance travel in real-world conditions.
As competition in the electric sedan market intensifies day by day, the Geely Galaxy A7 is preparing to enter the race with its price/performance expectations. Whether the model will be launched in global markets is not yet clear.
