Geely is preparing to launch the refreshed version of its compact electric hatchback model, the EX2, in China. The model, sold under the name “Xingyuan” in the Chinese market, stands out with minor design touches and an increased range. Although the price has not yet been announced, the current model is reportedly sold in China for approximately $10,100 to $12,900.
Became China's Best-Selling Car in 2025
The EX2 was first launched in 2024 under Geely's Geome sub-brand. However, the model is now positioned under Geely's Galaxy brand. This change was also confirmed by spy photos that emerged in late 2025.
The model is performing very strongly in the Chinese automotive market. According to data, the EX2 achieved a total of 465,775 deliveries throughout 2025, becoming China's best-selling car.
What's New in the Refreshed EX2?
With the facelift operation, no major changes were made to the EX2's design. The model now carries new Galaxy logos and is offered with different wheel covers.
There is a significant update on the battery front. The refreshed EX2 now offers two different LFP battery options: 35 kWh and 47 kWh. These batteries promise a driving range of 360 km and 460 km respectively, according to CLTC.
The motor options are largely expected to be retained. The entry-level features a 58 kW (78 hp) rear-wheel-drive electric motor, while the higher versions will continue to use an 85 kW (114 hp) electric motor.
Geely has not yet announced the new battery supplier. The current model used CATL-branded LFP batteries.
Fast Charging Support Continues
The fast charging support, offered as standard in the current EX2 version, is expected to be retained in the new model. Geely states that the current vehicle's battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in 21 minutes. It is stated that this time may be further improved in the refreshed model.
Significant Advantages Over Competitors
One of the most important features that distinguishes the Geely EX2 from many of its rivals in its class is the standard liquid battery cooling system. While liquid cooling is usually only offered in higher trims for competing models like the BYD Seagull and Wuling Binguo, it comes standard in all versions of the EX2.
In addition, the model's chassis is also noteworthy. The EX2 uses a McPherson suspension system at the front and an independent multi-link suspension at the rear. Many rival models in the same segment, however, settle for a simpler torsion beam system.
Suitable for City Use with Its Dimensions
The dimensions of the Geely EX2 are as follows:

- Wheelbase: 2,650 mm
It is stated that with this facelift operation, the model, which has been on sale for approximately two years without major changes, aims to maintain its strong position in the market.
