Samsung's Android 17 Surprise: One UI 9 Beta Could Be Released Soon

Samsung has taken a significant step towards the release of One UI 9, based on Android 17. The company has created beta forums for the new version in several countries, signaling that public testing could begin very soon.

One UI 9 Beta Forum Opened for Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has established official One UI 9 beta program forum pages for the Galaxy S26 series. The new beta sections are active on Samsung community forums in many major countries, including Germany, India, Poland, Korea, the UK, and the USA. These are the countries where Samsung typically runs its beta programs.

The forums do not confirm a definitive release date for the beta, but Samsung usually activates these pages shortly before testing begins. Therefore, the first beta for the Galaxy S26 series could arrive later this month. Once the program goes live, Galaxy S26 users in selected countries will be able to join the beta program via the Samsung Members app.

These dedicated beta forums will serve as a central hub for announcements, known issues, feature discussions, bug reports, feedback, and troubleshooting throughout the testing period. Although Samsung has currently only created beta forums for the Galaxy S26 series, it is likely to run beta programs for other devices as well. Devices such as the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Fold 7 could join the program a few months after the new flagships.

Samsung is expected to release Android 17-based One UI 9 with its new foldable devices at the end of July. However, existing devices may receive the update a few months later.
