YouTube has announced its "Ask YouTube" feature, which will make content searches smarter with artificial intelligence. Thanks to this new tool, users will be able to find the information they are looking for within long videos or Shorts by asking questions in a conversational style on YouTube. This feature is similar to Google Search's AI Mode but operates entirely video-focused.
Ask YouTube compiles videos it deems most relevant to the user's question, and users can further refine their search by asking additional questions based on the results. Additionally, small text summaries are provided to quickly understand the content of the videos.
YouTube is also integrating Gemini Omni with its Create app and YouTube Shorts Remix. Gemini Omni can combine various inputs such as images, audio, video, and text to produce high-quality videos using real-world information. Users can remix Shorts videos by adding their own text and visuals, including themselves in the video, or applying style filters to the entire video.
Ask YouTube is currently accessible to YouTube Premium members in the US via the YouTube Labs page. The Gemini Omni integration is also being rolled out starting today.
