South Korean automotive giant Kia has introduced the new top-tier trim package, "Black-Line," for its ambitious compact electric SUV model, the EV2. Joining the existing Light, Air, Earth, First Edition, and GT-Line options, the Black-Line stands out with its aesthetic black details and rich technological equipment.
Based on the GT-Line trim, the Black-Line lives up to its name with distinctive black exterior design details and an all-black interior. The vehicle features special 19-inch dark-colored wheels, a black roof contrasting with the body color, and extensive glossy black accents.
The interior uses high-quality artificial leather upholstery. The dashboard features a striking wide screen layout consisting of three different sections: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate control screen, and a 12.3-inch central multimedia screen. The vehicle also supports Kia Connect, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and over-the-air updates.
Performance and Range
The Black-Line version is equipped with a 61 kWh capacity battery. This battery provides the vehicle with a range of up to 418 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Powered by a 135 horsepower electric motor, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 161 km/h.
The Kia EV2 Black-Line is also impressive in terms of charging performance, capable of reaching 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes with fast DC charging support. Additionally, it offers 11 kW standard and 22 kW optional AC charging support for home or workplace charging.
Rich Equipment List
The new version comes with many standard features that enhance user comfort. These include a Harman Kardon sound system, electrically adjustable driver's seat, V2L feature providing 230V power to external devices, a heat pump, dual-zone climate control system, rearview camera, heated front seats, and automatically deploying door handles.
The Kia EV2 Black-Line comes standard with the Highway Assistant 2.0 (HDA 2.0) advanced driving assistance package. Offering practical use with its storage capacity, the model has a rear trunk volume ranging from 362 to 403 liters, as well as an additional 15-liter compartment (frunk) at the front.
