Türk Telekom Ranks First in Patent Applications for Second Consecutive Time

Türk Telekom announced its R&D performance for 2025. The company increased its patent applications by over 20% to 921 in 2025, declaring itself the organization with the most patent applications in Turkey for the second consecutive time.

The company's patent applications include future technologies such as AI-supported network management, 5G, 6G, quantum-safe communication, Wi-Fi sensing technologies, data center solutions, and smart infrastructures.

The company also announced that it increased its number of academic publications by 129% to 131 in 2025. These publications include studies on artificial intelligence, next-generation communication technologies, quantum technologies, and digital infrastructures.

Türk Telekom also increased its contribution to international standard development efforts by 237% last year. The company participates in international organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), and LF Broadband within the Linux Foundation. It conducts studies in areas such as 6G network architectures, AI-based services, Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), wireless energy transfer for IoT devices, quantum technologies, and autonomous network management.

Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin made the following statement on the matter:

“As Türk Telekom, we are resolutely working towards a Turkey that not only uses technology but also produces, develops, and exports it. As the investment leader in the sector for the past five years, we are preparing Turkey for the technologies of the future and view R&D not just as an activity that develops new technologies, but as a strategic area that enhances Turkey's global competitiveness.”
