China's GAC's Land Cruiser Rival Yue 7 on Pre-Sale for $24,000

China's GAC's Land Cruiser Rival Yue 7 on Pre-Sale for $24,000

GAC Trumpchi has launched its first off-road SUV, the Yue 7, developed with a "box" design philosophy, for pre-sale. The model boasts impressive off-road performance with 544 horsepower and 10,000 Nm of wheel torque.

The vehicle, which debuted with four different trim levels, is preparing to hit the roads with highly competitive price tags ranging from approximately $24,000 to $30,500, thanks to special discounted pre-sale offers.

Off-road Focused Design and Adjustable Suspension

Combining its muscular structure with vertically placed triple LED daytime running lights and a closed front grille, the Yue 7 reflects the power under its hood in its exterior design. The LiDAR integrated into the roof and sensors in the fenders indicate that the vehicle will utilize advanced autonomous driving capabilities even in the most challenging off-road conditions.

GAC engineers have set the vehicle's approach angle at 30° and departure angle at 33°. However, when the air suspension offered in higher trims is chosen, these angles can increase up to 35°. Furthermore, the ground clearance can be instantly adjusted between 180 mm and 270 mm as needed. Its length, approaching 5 meters, and a 2,900 mm wheelbase promise a spacious cabin.

A First in the Industry: Qualcomm QCM8838 Processor and Giant Screen

Moving to the cabin, we are greeted by a massive panoramic screen measuring 1.1 meters wide. This interface, named ADiGO 7.0 "Star River", is powered by the Qualcomm QCM8838 flagship chipset, used for the first time in the automotive industry.

This processor not only ensures a fluid multimedia system but also instantly handles all calculations for AI-powered driving assistants. The independent seats with 170 mm electric sliding rails in the interior promise a high level of comfort on long journeys.

544 Horsepower

At the heart of the Yue 7 lies GAC's "Star Source GMC 3.0 Thunder Edition" rechargeable hybrid (PHEV) architecture. The 168-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine, combined with a powerful electric motor and a P4 rear electric axle, creates a true performance beast.

Offering a total of 400 kW (544 horsepower) and 1,000 Nm of torque, the vehicle has a torsional rigidity of 38,000 Nm/° with its integrated embedded chassis structure. Moreover, in addition to front and rear mechanical differential locks, a central lock is also standard. The AI-powered off-road system further enhances off-road capability by automatically adapting to 9 different terrain conditions.

Three Different Battery Options

Considering daily urban use, GAC offers the vehicle with three different battery capacities:

  • 28.3 kWh: 116 km pure electric range (CLTC)
  • 38.88 kWh: 180 km pure electric range (CLTC)
  • 45.97 kWh: 188 km pure electric range (CLTC)
