Apple Introduces Customizable Camera App with iOS 27 RC
Apple has released a customizable Camera app with the iOS 27 RC update provided to developers. iPhone users will now be able to adjust Camera controls to their liking.
Following the introduction of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, Apple's iOS 27 RC brings the long-awaited customization to the Camera app. Discussions about Apple's plans to make the Camera app more customizable have been ongoing for months, and this feature is now available in the final pre-release beta version.
To customize controls in the Camera app, iPhone users will need to tap the button with six small circles located in the bottom right corner of the interface, then press the new "Edit" button that appears in the top left corner. In the new "Add Photo Controls" screen that opens, you will be able to add or remove toolkit-like controls to the top part of the Camera interface.
The iOS 27 Camera app will include the following controls, depending on the iPhone model: Flash, Live Photo, Aspect Ratio, Timer, Exposure, Styles, Filters, Depth Control, Night Mode, Center Stage, File Format, and Shared Library. Users will be able to revert to the default interface using the "Revert to Basic Settings" option at the bottom of the toolkit panel.
Apple will roll out Camera app customization to all iPhones running iOS 27. iOS 27 is scheduled to arrive on all compatible devices on Monday, September 14.
