NVIDIA's RTX 50 SUPER graphics card series, previously rumored to be postponed, is now reportedly back in development. A new leak also points to an RTX 5060 12 GB model.
A new leak from Nvidia has shared fresh information regarding the long-awaited RTX 50 SUPER graphics card family. The series, previously rumored to be suspended, is now reportedly in the development phase and could be released in 2026.
RTX 5070 SUPER, 5080 SUPER, and RTX 5060
According to MEGAsizeGPU, known for its leaks, Nvidia has reinstated the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER series into its active plans. The source indicates that in addition to the previously discussed RTX 5070 SUPER and RTX 5080 SUPER models, a GeForce RTX 5060 model with 12GB of memory might also be included in the series. However, there is also a possibility that this graphics card could be launched under the name RTX 5060 SUPER.
According to the shared information, there are no changes in the technical specifications of the RTX 5070 SUPER and RTX 5080 SUPER models compared to previous leaks. The most significant innovation of the new SUPER series is expected to be in memory capacity rather than processing power. Earlier information claimed that the RTX 5080 SUPER model would feature 24 GB GDDR7, the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER model 24 GB GDDR7, and the RTX 5070 SUPER model 18 GB GDDR7 memory.
RTX 5060 12GB is coming
This upgrade is reportedly based on new 3GB capacity GDDR7 memory modules. These modules offer higher capacity compared to the 2GB memory chips used in current cards, allowing Nvidia to provide more VRAM without altering the memory bus width. The most striking part of the latest leak is the RTX 5060 12 GB claim.
According to the claim, the graphics card will be able to achieve a total of 12GB of memory by using four 3GB GDDR7 modules with a 128-bit memory bus. This would increase the existing capacity while maintaining the memory bus width. Furthermore, previous rumors of 9GB memory for the RTX 5050 and some RTX 5060 Ti variants were reportedly based on a 96-bit memory configuration. Therefore, the RTX 5060 12GB model represents a different configuration.
