Skoda has shared the design of its new electric SUV model, the Peaq, ahead of its official launch. Poised to be the brand's largest and most expensive model to date, the Peaq is positioned as an electric Kodiaq with its seven-seat configuration.
Features of the 7-seater Skoda Peaq
The Peaq is developed on an extended version of the MEB platform, also used in Skoda's Enyaq and Elroq models. Measuring approximately 4.9 meters in length, the model is 25 cm longer than the Enyaq and 11 cm longer than the internal combustion Kodiaq.
The new SUV utilizes the brand's "Modern Solid" design language. Notable features at the front include a closed grille design called Tech Deck, T-shaped LED lighting, and more angular lines.
According to technical information shared by Skoda, the mid-level version will feature a rear-wheel-drive setup and be offered with a single electric motor producing 286 horsepower. This version will be equipped with an 86 kWh battery, targeting a range of over 610 kilometers according to WLTP standards. The maximum DC charging power is 195 kW.
The entry-level version of the series will have a 59 kWh battery and 204 horsepower, while the top-tier, dual-motor all-wheel-drive version will offer approximately 300 horsepower.
The Peaq brings significant innovations for the brand, not only in terms of size but also technology. These include one-pedal driving mode, vehicle-to-load (V2L) energy transfer to external devices, an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof, electrically retractable door handles, and a Sonos sound system.
Inside, for the first time in Skoda's history, a vertically positioned 13.6-inch multimedia screen will be used. Thanks to the extended wheelbase, more spacious living areas are offered for second and third-row passengers. The boot capacity is 299 liters when all seven seats are in use, expanding to 935 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
Skoda will unveil the new Peaq at a special event in France on June 23rd. European sales of the model are expected to begin after the summer months. The Peaq, which will compete in the growing electric 7-seater SUV segment, notably against the Peugeot E-5008, is projected to be priced between approximately 57,000 and 68,000 euros in Europe.
