New alleged case images for the Galaxy S27 series, expected to be introduced by Samsung in 2027, continue to surface. Most recently, reliable leaker Ice Universe shared protective case images claimed to belong to the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. The camera designs of the four models in the series will distinctly differ from each other.
Galaxy S27 Series Design Leaked
According to the leak, the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will largely retain Samsung's design philosophy used in recent generations. These two models are expected to feature individual protruding sections for the cameras on the rear. Thus, the standard models will offer a look closer to the current Galaxy S series.
The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, however, will feature a significantly different camera design. The cases show a horizontal and wide camera island placed at the top of the phone for the cameras. This design aligns with previously leaked render images and marks an end to Samsung's vertical camera placement used for years.
It's worth noting that the new camera island is not just a visual change. The horizontal and wide design is said to provide more space for camera components inside the phone, allowing for larger sensors and improved cooling systems. However, current leaks suggest there won't be a major upgrade in sensor sizes, apart from the rumored new 4x telephoto camera in the Ultra model.
The truly new model in the series will be the Galaxy S27 Pro. It is stated that Samsung is preparing a device closer to the Ultra, rather than positioning it between the S27 and S27+. Expected to have a display between approximately 6.4 and 6.6 inches, the S27 Pro might share its main and ultrawide cameras with the Ultra model. Without S Pen support, it could be positioned as a more compact Ultra alternative.
When will the Galaxy S27 be released?
All four models are expected to be introduced in the first quarter of 2027, most likely in January or February. On the hardware front, the entire Galaxy S27 family is expected to use processors manufactured with a 2nm process. Leaks also suggest that depending on the region, Samsung's own Exynos 2700 processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro options produced by TSMC might be offered.
Finally, it is stated that Samsung might change its display supply chain. The company is reportedly considering using BOE-produced OLED panels for the Galaxy S series for the first time. However, we will have to wait a while longer for all the details.
