Android 17 is currently under development, and early versions already reveal interesting new features. One of the promising features coming soon is the built-in App Lock, which will help protect personal applications. The latest report indicates that locked applications will hide their notification content.
Notification Content Will Not Be Displayed
With the Android 17 update, when an application is locked, its notifications will still appear on the screen, but the actual content will not be visible. For example, if the WhatsApp application is locked, when a new message arrives, the message text will not be shown. Instead, the notification will simply say "New message" or "New notification." This will prevent private information from being seen by others.
Currently, it is not clear whether the application's name or icon will also be hidden. Since this feature appeared in an early test version, Google may make changes before Android 17 is officially released.
