TEMSA Delivers 15 Electric Buses to Lithuania

Following a record-breaking 2025, TEMSA has started 2026 at a fast pace. While expanding its vehicle fleet domestically, TEMSA also increased its global footprint by delivering 15 MD9 electriCITY buses exported to Lithuania.

321 TEMSA Buses on Lithuanian Roads

The vehicles delivered as part of Lithuania's public transportation electrification transformation vision will be used in local government public transport services under UAB Kautra, one of the country's largest operators and a TEMSA dealer for over 20 years. With other vehicles planned for delivery in 2026, the number of TEMSA-branded vehicles on Lithuanian roads will reach 321.

Lithuania is among the leading countries in Europe to embrace the electrification transformation at the highest level. A report published by the European Commission in recent months revealed that 52% of new buses entering traffic in the country are electric.

Electrification in public transportation is highly important. It is stated that a single electric bus can reduce approximately 650 tons of CO2 emissions over a 10-year usage period. This is considered equivalent to the emissions caused by approximately 360 passenger cars during the same period.

Offering a zero-emission solution for urban transport, the MD9 electriCITY is 9.5 meters long and stands out from its competitors in terms of performance with its 250 kW electric motor. The MD9 electriCITY, which is also on the roads in countries like Sweden, France, and Spain, also holds the title of being the first electric vehicle model exported in TEMSA's history.
