ASPİLSAN Unveils Turkey's First Silicon Anode-Based Lithium-Ion Battery

ASPİLSAN Energy has introduced Turkey's first silicon anode-based 3500 mAh A35 lithium-ion battery. This new generation cell stands out with its high energy density and performance under challenging conditions.

ASPİLSAN Energy announced the development of a new generation product in lithium-ion battery technologies. The company introduced its high-capacity rechargeable 18650 cylindrical cell named A35 to the public. Developed with silicon/graphite composite anode technology, the new cell was exhibited for the first time at the SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace, and Space Industry Fair.

The new A35 cell, developed by ASPİLSAN Energy, is based on silicon/graphite composite anode technology, offering a more advanced material architecture compared to traditional graphite anode structures. This design enables significantly higher energy density and provides greater capacity within the same physical dimensions.

Offers 3500 mAh Capacity

One of the most striking aspects of the A35 cell is its 3500 mAh capacity, offered in the standard 18650 form factor. ASPİLSAN Energy states that the new cell provides higher capacity compared to previous generation solutions and will offer significant advantages in various usage scenarios.

The company's existing 18650-sized nickel-rich lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry battery has a capacity of 2800 mAh.

According to the company, the A35 stands out not only for its increased capacity but also for its performance under harsh environmental conditions. Particularly, its ability to operate at low temperatures makes the product critical for defense industry applications. This feature ensures the battery can be effectively used in field operations, military systems, mobility solutions, and applications with demanding operating conditions.

Aiming for Global Markets

ASPİLSAN Energy also announced that the A35 will not be limited to the Turkish market. The company states that the cell, developed through quality and safety-focused processes, is designed to meet international standards. In this context, the product aims to be positioned as a competitive solution in global markets, especially in the USA.

Furthermore, ASPİLSAN Energy not only introduced its new battery technology at SAHA 2026 but also signed new cooperation agreements with various institutions and companies. The company announced that it has concluded cooperation agreements with Teknopark Istanbul, JAVDES, Radarsan, and FPV kamikaze drone manufacturer SKYDAGGER.
