Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 Prices Revealed

Samsung may be preparing for a price increase on its next-generation foldable phones. According to a new report from South Korea, the company has begun evaluating a higher pricing policy, especially for the top storage options, due to rising production costs.

According to the leak, the starting prices for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 models will largely be maintained. However, versions with higher storage capacities, such as 512 GB and 1 TB, are expected to be sold at a higher price. In this context, the company will opt to reflect price increases primarily on higher storage options, rather than directly raising the price of the entry-level model.

One of the most significant reasons behind this increase is rising memory and chip costs. The renewed surge in DRAM prices and strong demand from the artificial intelligence sector have increased cost pressure in the semiconductor industry. On the hardware front, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is expected to focus on minor improvements rather than major design changes.

Initial leaks suggest the device will be a continuation of the current generation. Some sources even indicate that significant progress on the screen crease is not expected. Additionally, Samsung may have postponed features like S Pen support and a new Privacy Display for cost control.

The new foldable models are expected to be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for late July. Current estimates suggest that the base Galaxy Z Fold 8 model could remain around $1999. However, higher-end versions are reported to reach even higher prices in the ultra-premium segment. For the Galaxy Z Flip 8, more limited price increases are anticipated.

Samsung, maintaining its leadership in the foldable phone market, has recently faced stronger competition, especially from Chinese manufacturers offering thinner designs and larger batteries. Furthermore, the anticipation of a foldable iPhone from Apple continues to increase pressure on the sector.
