Xiaomi has introduced a new portable fan model developed to meet users' cooling needs during the summer months. The device, launched under the name Mijia Handheld Fan, is available for pre-order with a price tag of 199 yuan (29 dollars). Official sales of the product will begin on June 10.
Xiaomi Mijia Handheld Fan Features
Measuring 63 x 64 x 167 mm and weighing 260 grams, the Mijia Handheld Fan stands out with its compact design. Similar in size to smartphones, the device can be carried by hand, on the shoulder, or attached to a bag thanks to its detachable shoulder strap included in the box.
The Mijia Handheld Fan features a DC motor and a mixed-flow impeller system. According to data shared by the company, the device can provide an airflow of 250 cubic meters per hour and reach a maximum wind speed of 8.5 m/s. Capable of blowing air effectively up to approximately 5 meters, the fan targets usage scenarios such as camping, hiking, and outdoor activities. The noise level remains below 69 dB(A) when operating at its highest power level.
Unlike the three-speed options found in many portable models on the market, Xiaomi offers 100-level stepless speed control in this model. Users can precisely adjust the airflow according to their needs. An LED screen integrated into the handle displays the instant speed level and remaining battery percentage, providing ease of use.
The device is powered by a 5,000 mAh capacity lithium-ion battery. Offering up to 40 hours of usage time at the lowest speed setting, the fan's battery has an energy capacity of 18.5 Wh. This value complies with most airline cabin baggage rules, allowing the device to be carried on plane journeys.
The Mijia Handheld Fan, which charges via a USB Type-C port, comes with fast charging support. According to Xiaomi's statement, just a 10-minute charge can provide approximately 4 hours of use. Additionally, the device can also be charged with portable power banks.
