According to June data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey's total installed electricity capacity rose to 126,113 megawatts. Of this, 79,062 megawatts were generated by renewable energy sources, bringing the share of renewables in the total installed capacity to 62.7 percent. During the same period, the share of domestic energy sources reached 71.9 percent.
Solar Energy's Share Rises to 21.6 Percent
Turkey's installed solar energy capacity reached 27,210 megawatts by the end of June. This brought solar energy's share of the total installed electricity capacity to 21.6 percent.
In wind energy, an installed capacity of 15,281 megawatts was reached. Wind's share in the total installed capacity was recorded as 12.1 percent.
Consequently, the combined installed capacity of solar and wind energy rose to 42,491 megawatts, with the total share of these two sources in the installed electricity capacity reaching 33.7 percent.
