Nvidia has announced significant innovations for its cloud-based gaming service, GeForce NOW. The company is preparing to expand its existing Steam Deck support to include Steam Machine and Steam Controller this autumn. Nvidia also confirmed that DLSS 4.5 technologies will be added to the service for Ultimate members.
Steam Controller Support First on Steam Machine
According to Nvidia's statement, Steam Machine and Steam Controller support will be made available this autumn. Initially, Steam Controller support will be offered on Steam Machine. Subsequently, Windows and macOS users will also be able to use the Steam Controller with GeForce NOW. This expansion builds upon Nvidia's previously introduced native Steam Deck support.
Thus, Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and Steam Controller users will have easier access to GeForce NOW within the same hardware ecosystem. Especially for Steam Machine owners, the cloud gaming service can offer a graphics experience beyond the limits of the device's local hardware.
DLSS 4.5 Support for Ultimate Members
Nvidia has also confirmed DLSS 4.5 support for GeForce NOW Ultimate subscribers. This includes the addition of the new DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction technology to the cloud gaming service. With DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation features, Ultimate members are aimed to play games with higher graphics settings.
Finally, the company announced the new games added to the platform this week. The games added to GeForce NOW this week are as follows:
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2
- Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
- STAR WARS Zero Company
