The Bayraktar TB2 showcased its radar detection, electronic attack, and high-resolution SAR imaging capabilities to delegations from 18 countries during a demo held in Konya with its ANTIDOT and FULMAR pods.
Developed by Baykar, the Bayraktar TB2 performed its duties during a demo demonstration in Konya with ASELSAN-signed ANTIDOT 2ES 100, ANTIDOT 2EA 200, and FULMAR 200 pods. The event, attended by defense delegations from 18 countries, showcased electronic support, electronic attack, and high-resolution radar imaging capabilities.
Electronic Warfare and SAR Demonstration
The ANTIDOT 2ES 100 Electronic Support (ES) Pod, ANTIDOT 2EA 200 Electronic Warfare (EW) Pod, and FULMAR 200 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Pod, integrated into Bayraktar TB2s, were used in a coordinated manner during the demo activity in Konya.
Within the scope of the activity, two Bayraktar TB2s were equipped with different payloads. The first platform used ANTIDOT 2ES 100 and ANTIDOT 2EA 200 pods, while the other platform used the FULMAR 200 pod. The systems brought together reconnaissance and surveillance with electronic warfare capabilities in the same operational scenario.
Radar Detection and Electronic Attack Performed
In the first test, the ANTIDOT system detected a target radar during flight and determined its location. Following the transmission of target data obtained by the ANTIDOT 2ES 100 electronic support pod, an electronic attack was carried out with the ANTIDOT 2EA 200. The aim of this process was for the Bayraktar TB2, equipped with electronic warfare systems, to approach the target without being detected by radar.
In the second phase, the ANTIDOT system detected a different target and determined its location. The obtained target location information was transmitted to the FULMAR 200 system. FULMAR 200, based on this data, generated a high-resolution SAR image, determining the target's position with high precision.
As a result of the tests, target detection, location determination, electronic attack, and high-resolution imaging capabilities were demonstrated on two Bayraktar TB2s in a single operational cycle. The ANTIDOT system was tested against real radar systems on the TB2 platform for the first time.
What do ANTIDOT and FULMAR offer?
The ANTIDOT 2ES 100 functions as an electronic support system developed to detect and analyze radar signals belonging to air defense systems. The system possesses capabilities for detecting, identifying, recording digital signals, direction finding, and locating threat radars.
The pod can instantly transmit data deemed necessary by the user to the ground control station via the aircraft's communication band. This ensures that electronic intelligence information obtained by the aerial platform during its mission is relayed to ground units.
The ANTIDOT 2EA 200 stands out as an electronic warfare system that can be integrated into unmanned aerial vehicles. The system offers electronic support and electronic attack capabilities within the same structure.
ANTIDOT 2EA 200 can detect enemy air defense systems and their direction. The pod measures the signal characteristics of search and tracking radars in detail, using the obtained data to identify threats. With full autonomous operation capability, the system can perform electronic attacks against air defense radars using pre-loaded electronic attack techniques.
The FULMAR 200 is positioned as a new-generation Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system developed for reconnaissance and surveillance missions on manned and unmanned aerial vehicles. The pod, with its lightweight and compact structure, is designed to operate with low power consumption. The system can perform missions in Spotlight and Stripmap SAR modes, day and night, in all weather conditions. The reconnaissance and surveillance radar system, featuring an AESA architecture, enables the acquisition of high-resolution radar images. FULMAR 200 can be integrated under the wings or into the fuselage of aerial platforms. This design allows the system to be used in conjunction with electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) cameras.
