Samsung Galaxy A18 4G's Design and Features Revealed: Price Will Surprise

Samsung Galaxy A18 4G's Design and Features Revealed: Price Will Surprise

Samsung's new entry-level phone, the Galaxy A18 4G, has had important information revealed about it. Leaked visuals show that the device's design is almost identical to its predecessor, the Galaxy A17 4G, with no major changes in technical specifications either. However, the significant increase in the phone's price is noteworthy.

The Same Design Philosophy Continues

According to leaked images, the Galaxy A18 4G will largely share the same design as the Galaxy A17 4G. The phone is expected to be offered in three different color options: black, light blue, and silver. These colors are also quite similar to the options available for the previous model.

On the front, the device features a flat screen with a notch at the top for the selfie camera. It's noticeable that the bezel at the bottom of the screen is significantly thicker compared to the other edges. Samsung also continues to use the Key Island design on the right side of the phone, a feature seen in its earlier models. The section containing the power and volume buttons is slightly raised from the phone's frame.

The rear features a flat back cover and a vertically aligned camera module placed in the upper left corner. This module, housing three cameras, protrudes slightly from the body.

No Major Changes in Technical Specifications

The technical specifications of the Galaxy A18 4G are also quite similar to the Galaxy A17 4G. The phone will feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The panel, with a 90Hz refresh rate, will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The device will be powered by MediaTek's Helio G99 processor. The phone will come with 4 GB of RAM, while storage options will include 128 GB and 256 GB. Users will be able to expand the storage up to 2 TB with a microSD card.

In terms of power, it will offer a 5,000 mAh battery and 25W wired charging support. The Galaxy A18 4G will also have an IP64 certification. For connectivity, it will support Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. The phone's dimensions will be 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7 mm, and it will weigh 193 grams.

The triple camera system on the back of the Galaxy A18 4G has also been revealed. The main camera will be a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. This main camera will be accompanied by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Thus, Samsung will largely stick to the camera setup of the previous generation.

Galaxy A18 5G is Also Coming

Samsung is not expected to release only a 4G version of the Galaxy A18. A 5G-enabled model of the phone is also being prepared. According to leaks, the Galaxy A18 5G will have the same design as the 4G model, and most of its technical specifications will be shared. While some hardware differences are expected between the two models, Samsung might differentiate at least one color option between them.

Galaxy A18 4G's Price Will Significantly Increase

One of the most striking details about the Galaxy A18 4G is its price. Allegedly, the phone's starting price will be 299 euros. This figure is 100 euros higher compared to the Galaxy A17 4G's starting price of 199 euros. The recent increase in memory costs is forcing all manufacturers, including Samsung, to raise prices. It seems the Galaxy A17 will also be affected by this increase.
