Asus has updated its 15.6-inch Vivobook 15 model with Intel's next-generation Wildcat Lake processors. First launched in Canada, the laptop stands out with its affordable price, extensive connectivity options, and full-size keyboard.
Asus Vivobook 15 (X1504) Features
The new Vivobook 15 (X1504) replaces the previous Raptor Lake-based version. The initial version of the device launched in Canada features an Intel Core 7 350 processor, with the model equipped with 8 GB DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD priced at approximately $1,006. The 16 GB RAM version sells for around $1,078.
The most significant innovation in the Vivobook 15 is its processor. The Intel Core 7 350 operates more efficiently and offers a slight performance increase compared to the Core 7 150U used in the previous model. Additionally, the processor includes a built-in NPU. This hardware helps perform compatible AI operations directly on the device.
Asus also lists more affordable Vivobook 15 options with Core 5 320, Core 5 315, and Core 3 304 processors. However, these models are not yet available for sale.
Nevertheless, the Wildcat Lake platform has a significant drawback: the processor only supports single-channel memory. This could limit performance, especially in applications sensitive to memory bandwidth.
The new Vivobook 15 does not bring significant changes to the display compared to the previous generation. The laptop features a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The screen offers 250 nits of brightness, 45% NTSC color coverage, and a 60 Hz refresh rate.
The device also has a 42 Wh fast-charging battery. Despite its approximately 17.8 mm thin chassis, it features a full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad. The device includes USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The laptop's weight is stated as 1.7 kg.
